What this document is for
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — pixels, tags, SDKs and local storage — do comparable jobs. This page lists which of them www.siooras.com uses and how to control them.
On this site, cookies help us:
- Remember your preferences, including your choice on this page
- Improve website speed
- Measure website performance
- Analyse visitor behaviour in aggregate
- Deliver relevant advertising
- Maintain website security
Only the first of those runs before you have accepted anything. The rest belong to categories that stay switched off until you say otherwise.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary. Session management, load balancing, form security and remembering your consent choice. These cannot be switched off; without them the site does not function.
Preference. Remembers settings such as your choice of light or dark appearance, so you do not reset them each visit.
Analytics. Aggregate measurement of visits, pages and journeys, used to see which content is doing its job. Provider: Google Analytics 4.
Marketing and retargeting. Set by advertising platforms so we can measure campaign performance and show relevant messages to visitors who have already shown interest. Provider: Meta Pixel.
We use exactly one item of preference storage, and only if you ask for it: the light or dark appearance setting, recorded when you use the theme switch in the header. It stores one word, identifies nobody, is never sent to our servers and cannot be read by any other site. If you never touch the switch, nothing is stored and the site simply follows whatever your device is set to.
Because it is set only on your own instruction and does nothing beyond remembering that instruction, it does not wait for the consent banner — the same treatment as the record of your consent choice itself. Every other non-essential category still does.

Only the first two rows can be present on a visit where you have not accepted anything — and the second only if you used the theme switch. The rest are created at the moment you accept the category they belong to, and not before — the tags that set them are not downloaded until then.
Your control
Non-essential cookies are set only after you accept them in the consent banner, and the scripts that set them are not loaded before that point either. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer, including switching a single category off. Withdrawing reloads the page, because a tag that has already run cannot be taken back out of the page it ran on.
You may also disable cookies through your browser settings, which blocks or clears them across every site rather than just this one. Some website features may not function properly if cookies are disabled — on this site specifically, blocking strictly necessary storage means we have to ask for your consent choice again on every visit.
Advertising platforms also offer their own opt-outs, and browser-level Global Privacy Control signals are honoured where they are transmitted.
Third-party responsibility
Cookies set by third parties are governed by those parties’ own privacy notices. We hold no control over their contents or lifespan.
Updates
This register is reviewed whenever we add or remove a tool on the site, and the effective date above is updated with it.
